🐾 Meet Gator, The Bark Park's Dog of the Month! 🐾

We are thrilled to announce that our Dog of the Month is Gator, a remarkably sweet, 8-year-old Basset Hound (born June 11, 2017). Gator is a happy-go-lucky love bug who believes that everyone he meets—dogs, humans, and especially children—is instantly his new best friend. His absolute favorite park activities are running around and greeting his massive circle of friends, though he gets an extra skip in his step whenever his real-life sister is at the park to play alongside him!

Gator has a truly special backstory. He was born right in his owner's home to a young puppy mill rescue Mama. While his family initially intended to foster, Gator captured their hearts so completely that he became the only foster puppy they ever kept. Though he defies the traditional Basset Hound breed standard with his extra-large size and manages a few health issues, his family knows he is absolutely "pawfect" just the way he is.

If you see Gator zooming around the park, making everyone smile, or making a splash—a favorite pastime he discovered just last summer when he realized park water is meant for splashing, not just drinking—be sure to give this loving soul a big pat on the head! Congratulations, Gator!
