Meet Our May Dog of the Month: Stella, the Resilient Princess! 

Every once in a while, a dog comes along who doesn't just join a family—they heal it. This month, we are honored to feature Stella, a little lady with a big heart who proved that the best things in life are worth waiting for. 
Stella’s journey to her new home wasn’t a short one. After her owner experienced the heartbreaking loss of her partner and two beloved Boston Terriers, there was a  emptiness in the house. It took six applications and many months of searching to find the perfect soul to fill that hole. Finally, Stella arrived through Nickel City Rescue, all the way from Texas, arriving small, timid, and struggling with severe skin condition. 
After discovering a beef allergy was the culprit behind her skin troubles, Stella made a full transformation. Today, she is healthy, loving, and beautiful. While she might miss out on steak treats, she makes up for it with a wardrobe that would make a fashionista jealous (though she’s still on the fence about her fairy costume!). 
When she isn’t at home presiding over her massive basket of plushy toys, Stella is the life of the party at Bark Park running all around feeling free. She is a girl of contrasts: one minute she’s showing off her "fake growl" while play-fighting with friends, and the next, she’s a refined princess wading through the creek. 

After three years together, it’s hard to tell who rescued who. Stella is a professional at giving hugs and kisses, proving that even a rough start can lead to a fairy-tale life.
